Profound, mysterious, and edgy lyrically, yet simple and small-town sounding musically, Coat of Arms consists of sisters Kennedi and Kaylee Koozer of Pierceton, Indiana.

The older of the two at 17, Kennedi has been singing since she was about 7, with her earliest musical influence being country child star Billy Gilman. Kennedi is very creative and enjoys art, books, and films.
"Film is actually my passion," says Kennedi. "I do really love music, and I've always loved singing, but I'd really like to make filmmaking or acting a long-term career someday. I also write a lot, and a novelist is definitely a highly probable adult career that I'll engage in."
When asked about her musical style, she said, "Music is such a big part of me and I really can't limit myself to a certain style. If I had to, though, I might label myself as some sort of indie folk-pop with a sprinkle of light alternative rock intertwined. Folk music is my first love, though; especially European folk with the light, airy music and the tribal-sounding drums that make you feel like you've just waltzed onto a medieval battle field." About her influences, she replied with, "Lyrically, definitely Bastille, Of Monsters And Men, and Lorde. I feel like those artists are just so gifted with the ability to write songs that just explode with storytelling. I love how the lyrics to their music make you really ponder what they're trying to convey to the listener and I think, if you can take a song and translate it into various scenarios and meanings, then you've definitely succeeded in your writing abilities. Musically though, my vocal influences would have to be Bridgit Mendler and Lorde. They're both very strong vocally and it's been very easy for me to sing with both of them, so I've just kind of molded my own voice around theirs."
